Garden furniture covers made to measure

Day bed cover
round or half-round, made to measure

Your day bed cover made to measure - waterproof in Cover-PVC, UV-resistant and ventilated by design. We sew every outdoor daybed cover to the shape of your furniture: round or half-round, with or without a canopy. Because the cover follows the shape, there are no hollows for rain to collect in and nothing flaps about in the wind. Mattress, weave and cushions stay dry and clean.

Shaped for your day bed

What sets this cover apart

An outdoor day bed is large, round or half-round and often has a canopy that reaches over the lounging area. A rectangular off-the-shelf tarpaulin creases on this shape, collects water in the folds and billows up in the wind. As a made to measure product, we sew every cover individually - to the diameter or width and depth, the height and the canopy of your day bed.

Round day bed cover or half-round

The cut follows your lounging area - fully round, or half-round with a straight back. There is no surplus fabric for rain to sit in.

With or without canopy

If your day bed has a canopy or sunshade, we sew the cover right over it. Without a canopy it sits lower and closer to the back and the lounging area.

Stays put in the wind

Tension straps with click buckles at the legs or corner points and a drawcord in the hem hold the cover close to the furniture. We deliberately avoid elastic, which goes slack, and single eyelets, which tear out.

Ventilated, not sweating

At least two concealed vents and a ground clearance of at least 5 cm let moisture escape - so no condensation builds up under the cover.

Daybed cover - waterproof and ventilated

Fabric & properties

A good cover has to keep rain out reliably and still be ventilated, so that the cushions and weave underneath do not go mouldy. We do not solve this with a "breathable" fabric but through the construction: we sew from Cover-PVC, a vapour-tight, PVC-coated polyester fabric with a 4,000 mm water column - so it really is waterproof. Ventilation comes from concealed vents and a ground clearance of at least 5 cm, so residual moisture can escape. The seams are carefully sewn and, on request, additionally sealed with welding tape.

Day bed cover - so it fits

How to measure your day bed

In the configurator you enter the shape, the measurements and the canopy - if in doubt, we check your measurements together before production, so the cover closes safely around day bed and canopy. Measure the day bed in the state you want to cover it in, with or without cushions.

Choose the shape

Round or half-round - what counts is the shape of the lounging area seen from above.

Diameter, or width and depth

For a round day bed, measure the diameter at the widest point, from outer edge to outer edge. For a half-round one, measure the width along the straight back and the depth to the furthest point of the curve.

Measure the height

Measure from the ground to the highest point - with a canopy up to the top edge of the canopy, otherwise to the top edge of the backrest.

State with or without canopy

Tell us whether the cover should enclose a canopy or sunshade as well. The canopy determines the height and the cut of the cover.

Upload a sketch or photo

Upload a sketch or photo of your day bed. With a canopy, the front edge is usually much lower than the back - mark both heights on the sketch and the cut will be right.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently Asked Questions

An outdoor day bed is a large lounging piece for garden and patio, usually round or half-round, with room for one or more people and often with a folding canopy. Related names are sun island, lounge island and sun bed.

A day bed cover is a protective cover that encloses the whole piece of furniture, including the lounging area, weave, cushions and canopy. It keeps off rain, snow, UV light, leaves, pollen and bird droppings. Because we sew it to your measurements, the same cover also fits a sun island or lounge island.

Weave, frame and cushions suffer from wet and sun: moisture leads to mildew stains and mould, and UV light fades colours. A close-fitting, ventilated cover keeps the day bed dry and clean, so it is ready to use as soon as you take the cover off.

What matters is the combination of waterproofing and ventilation. We sew from Cover-PVC, a vapour-tight, PVC-coated polyester fabric with a 4,000 mm water column - it really is waterproof, UV-stable and lightfast (grade 7-8). To stop condensation forming underneath, concealed vents and a ground clearance of at least 5 cm keep the air moving.

The one that matches its shape. A day bed is round or half-round, often with a canopy - a rectangular standard tarpaulin lies in folds there, collects water and flaps about. A made to measure cover in waterproof fabric, with vents, ground clearance and secure fastening, protects it for the long term.

Start by choosing the shape. For a round day bed, measure the diameter at the widest point; for a half-round one, the width along the straight back and the depth to the furthest point of the curve. Add the height from the ground to the highest point, with a canopy up to its top edge. A sketch or photo helps us check the cut before production.

Yes. In the configurator you state whether your day bed has a canopy or sunshade, and we sew the cover right over it. Mark the front and back heights on your sketch, because with a canopy the back is usually much higher.

By hand: wash off dirt with lukewarm water, a sponge or soft brush and a little mild detergent, rinse with clean water and let it air-dry. The cover must not go in the washing machine or the tumble dryer, and it should not be bleached or ironed.

Whenever you will not be using it for a while - overnight in rainy weather, while you are on holiday and over the winter. Cover the day bed when it is as dry as possible, so residual moisture escapes through the vents and the ground clearance instead of building up under the cover.

Yes. Cover-PVC is made for permanent outdoor use and withstands frost, wind and snow. Because it is cut to size and sits taut over canopy and backrest, water runs off instead of collecting in folds. If a lot of snow settles on the cover, it is best to brush it off.

When it no longer protects: the coating turns brittle or cracked, seams let water through, or the cover has tears that let rain in. A new cover also makes sense after buying a day bed with different measurements, because a cover that is too large forms water pockets.

The differences lie in material, fit and workmanship. Thin films are cheap but often turn brittle in the sun after a single season. A PVC-coated polyester fabric with a tested water column, lightfastness and abrasion resistance costs more, as do the made to measure cut, concealed vents, tension straps with a drawcord and, on request, sealed seams.

We sew every cover ourselves to your measurements - round or half-round, with or without a canopy. You give us the shape and measurements, choose the fabric, and we make the cover to fit. On request, we check your details before production.

Directly from us: enter the shape, measurements and canopy in the configurator or upload a sketch, and we sew the cover to fit. If you have questions, the service centre will help you before production.
