What sets this cover apart

Hooded beach chairs - known on the German and Baltic coasts as a Strandkorb - are rounded, heavy and expensive, so an off-the-shelf Strandkorb cover rarely fits over the hood and the weave. We sew every cover individually to your measurements, special models included.

Strong weather protection in Cover-PVC, an abrasion-resistant PVC-coated polyester fabric, shields the delicate weave from wet and sun.

Tension straps with click buckles and a drawcord in the hem hold the cover close to the beach chair even in strong wind.

Fabric & properties

A good beach chair cover has to do two things at once: keep rain out reliably and still be ventilated, so that no condensation builds up in the weave. We do not solve this with a "breathable" fabric but through the construction: we sew from Cover-PVC, a vapour-tight, PVC-coated polyester fabric with a 4,000 mm water column - so it really is waterproof. Ventilation comes from at least two concealed vents under flaps and fabric folds, plus a defined ground clearance of at least 5 cm, so moisture escapes without letting rain in.

We sew from Cover-PVC, a vapour-tight, PVC-coated polyester fabric with a 4,000 mm water column - waterproof, UV-stable and winter-proof. Ventilation comes from the construction, with concealed vents and ground clearance. To measure, take width, depth and height at the widest and highest point, including the hood.

You get a made to measure beach chair cover directly from us - we make it in our own sewing workshop to your measurements, with no minimum order. That gives you a fit off-the-shelf goods cannot offer.

A cover protects the delicate weave and the cushions from rain, moisture, UV light, leaves and bird droppings, and extends their life. A made to measure cover sits closer than a standard one and therefore protects more reliably.

The price follows the fabric, the workmanship and the fit. Heavy, UV-stable and abrasion-resistant fabrics such as Cover-PVC with carefully sewn seams last longer than thin standard tarpaulins. Made to measure costs more, but it protects better.

Rinse the cover with clean water and let it dry thoroughly before storing it. Replace it when it starts letting water through, when seams wear out or when the fabric has gone brittle.

Cover the beach chair whenever it is not in use - in rain, out of season and especially over winter. If it stays outdoors all year, a cover also protects it from wet and pollen during the season.
