Outdoor Curtain Installation Guide
What is required?
Before you begin, make sure you have the following tools ready:
Measuring tape or folding rule
Spirit level, if necessary
Drill
Drill bit (for concrete beams - Ø 8 mm, for wooden beams - Ø 4 mm, for steel beams - Ø 4.5 mm)
Torx & Allen wrench
-
Screwdriver
Hammer (for driving in dowels)
A second person may be needed for large wall cushions
Important information regarding installation
How to install correctly
- Before installation, ensure that the support to which the wire rope or rail system is attached is stable and strong enough to safely hold the weight of the outdoor curtains.
- Before drilling, make sure that there are no electrical, water, or gas lines in the ceiling at the intended location.
- Always use the supplied mounting hardware for installation.
- For larger curtains, it is recommended that two people carry out the installation.
- Be sure to follow our installation instructions.
Tolerances
Our outdoor curtains are manufactured with precision. Due to the nature of the material (textiles are flexible), slight variations may occur.
Rail system installation
Step 1 - Prepare the carrier
Mark drilling locations
The wall or ceiling brackets (depending on the type of mounting ordered) must be mounted on the support structure at a distance of 80 cm.
Appropriate holes must be drilled in the supporting structure:
- For an aluminum or metal structure, a pilot hole with a diameter of 4.5 mm must be drilled for the self-tapping screws.
- For a stone or concrete support, a pilot hole with a diameter of 8 mm and a minimum drill hole depth of 50 mm must be drilled for the universal dowels.
IMPORTANT!
- Before installation, ensure that the support structure is sufficiently strong to hold the curtain securely.
- Before drilling, ensure that there are no electrical, water, or gas lines in the wall at the intended location.
Step 2 - Prepare the bracket and rail
Mounting the brackets
Mount the wall or ceiling brackets using the screws provided, but do not tighten them too much (align them lengthwise).
Connecting the rails
Connect the rails using the connectors supplied.
Rails longer than 130 cm are supplied in sections and must be assembled accordingly.
Step 3 - Mount the rail
Attaching the rail
Place the rail in the correct position. It is best to carry out this step with two people – one person holds the rail while the other aligns it precisely.
Rotate the holder
Take an open-end wrench, grip the holder with it, and rotate it 90° counterclockwise (viewed from below).
Rope system installation
Step 1 - Install eye bolt
Install eye bolts
At the beginning and end of the length to be covered, the appropriate stainless steel eye bolt (metric thread M8 x 100 mm or wood thread M8 x 80 mm) must be mounted on the support structure.
- For aluminum or metal structures, a pilot hole with a diameter of approx. 6.8 mm must be drilled for the eye bolt.
- For stone or concrete supports, a pilot hole with a diameter of 8 mm and a minimum drill hole depth of 50 mm must be drilled for the universal dowels.
- For lengths over two meters, we recommend an additional eye bolt for greater stability. The appropriate number is supplied depending on the total length.
IMPORTANT!
- Before installation, ensure that the support structure is sufficiently strong to hold the curtain securely.
- Before drilling, ensure that there are no electrical, water, or gas lines in the wall at the intended location.
Step 2 - Install the wire rope
Install wire rope
At the beginning and end of the length to be covered, the corresponding stainless steel eye bolt (metric thread M8 x 100 mm or wood thread M8 x 80 mm) must be mounted on the support structure.
- First, thread the wire rope completely through the stainless steel eye bolt that has already been mounted on one side.
- On the opposite side, thread the rope through the rope tensioning lock. Make sure that the rope remains taut but still adjustable.
- Then secure the wire rope at both ends with the appropriate stainless steel U-bolts.
- Be careful not to tension the rope too much, so as not to damage the support and eye bolts.
