Buying guide for
made-to-measure

Which product, which fabric, which thickness - these pages walk you through the decision before you order anything made to measure. Pick your area above or work down the list.

By fabric

Fibre first, colour second

The fabric decides durability and price - more than any other feature. Three ways to make that decision.

How to go about it

Four steps to the right order

The order matters more than it looks. Anyone who starts with the colour decides twice.

1. Settle the location

Outdoors all year, summer only, or under cover? That single answer sets which fabric class is in the running at all.

2. Choose the fabric class

Solution-dyed premium acrylic for full sun, piece-dyed acrylic for a sheltered spot, polypropylene for wet and chlorinated conditions.

3. Take the measurements

Only then measure. The measuring instructions show per product where to measure and which allowances we add.

4. Check a sample, then order

Screen colours mislead. Anyone who held a sample first does not cancel later over the shade.

Frequent questions

Frequently Asked Questions

With the location, not the colour. A cushion that stays outdoors all year needs a solution-dyed fabric with high lightfastness. For a sheltered spot or summer-only use a cheaper quality is enough without any noticeable drawback.

Solution-dyed acrylics. Their pigment is added to the liquid polymer before the fibre exists - the colour sits in the core and cannot be rubbed off or bleached out. Such qualities reach 7 to 8 out of 8 lightfastness to ISO 105-B02.

For seats used for longer periods we recommend at least 6 cm of foam core. For purely decorative cushions or back sections 4 cm is enough. Beside thickness what counts is the density of the foam - a thick soft core gives way faster than a thinner one with higher density.

Yes. Through the fabric sample page we send you samples of the qualities that are in the running for you. It is the most reliable way to avoid a wrong order because of the shade.

That depends on the fabric, not on the size. The price follows fabric consumption and the chosen quality; making up to measure is not charged separately with us. Which is exactly why the fabric class deserves the first decision.

Our customer service. We manufacture ourselves and know the fabrics from our own workshop - by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail, including on the question of which guide belongs to your furniture.
