What makes Agora Panama fabric special
Agora Panama comes from the fabric brand Agora from Spain, the manufacturer is Tuvatextil. You will find all colours and the complete data sheet on the fabric page Agora Panama. This page covers what matters for a mattress used outdoors.
Panama weave
In a Panama weave, two warp threads and two weft threads always run in parallel. This creates a light basket-weave texture with a subtle surface structure. The fabric looks livelier than a smooth weave without looking busy, and the texture catches the light in different ways.
Colour in the core of the fibre
Agora Panama is solution-dyed. The colour is added to the liquid acrylic mass before the fibre is formed. The fibre is therefore dyed right through, and the colour stays the same even if the surface wears down minimally over the years.
Lightfastness 7-8 out of 8
According to ISO 105-B02, the fabric reaches 7-8 on the scale up to 8, and also 7-8 under artificial weathering according to ISO 105-B04. What is lightfastness explains what the grades mean. The manufacturer gives a 5-year guarantee that the fabric will not fade or lose strength.
Water- and dirt-repellent, PFAS-free
The fabric has a water- and dirt-repellent finish and is PFAS-free. In summer rain and splashes, water runs off. It is not waterproof - the water column is 180 mm, and in heavy rain or standing wet, water gets through after a while. More on this measurement under What is water column.
Soft handle, robust weight
A soft finish gives the fabric a pleasant handle, which you notice on a lying surface when wearing short clothes. At 280 g/m², Panama is slightly heavier than smooth Agora Liso at 260 g/m². The abrasion resistance is 20,000 rubs according to Martindale, solid for normal use on the terrace and indoors.

Panama or another Agora collection?
All Agora fabrics in the shop are solution-dyed acrylic. They differ in weave, look and weight. All collections are listed under Collections, all fabrics under Fabrics.
Smooth instead of textured
Agora Plains contains the smooth plain fabric Agora Liso at 260 g/m². If you want a calm, smooth fabric surface, that is the right place. Panama has visibly more texture.
With recycled fibre content
Agora Life includes Agora Life Panama, among others: the same weave and 280 g/m², but with a share of recycled acrylic fibre. The standard Panama on this page contains no recycled content.
Stripes
Agora Lines and Rayure are striped fabrics at 260 g/m². Every colour in the stripe is also dyed right through to the core of the fibre.
Woven patterns
Agora Simmetria has woven designs such as Diamante, Picco, Vimini and Scala and, at 405 to 420 g/m², is considerably heavier.
