Striped outdoor fabric - Agora Lines and Agora Rayure compared

Both fabrics come from Agora in Spain and are built the same way technically: 100 % solution-dyed acrylic, 260 g/m², with a water- and dirt-repellent finish. The difference lies in the stripe pattern. All test values and the remaining colours are on the fabric page Agora Lines and Rayure.

What the values of Agora Lines and Rayure mean

The figures come from the manufacturer's data sheets and apply to both fabrics unless stated otherwise. This is how to read them:

Solution-dyed acrylic

The colour is added to the liquid spinning mass before the fibre is formed. It therefore sits in the core of the fibre rather than on the surface. For a striped fabric, this means that both stripe colours are rated equally lightfast.

Lightfastness 7-8 out of 8

Measured to ISO 105-B02 on a scale from 1 to 8, with weathering to ISO 105-B04 also rated 7-8. What the grades mean is explained in What is lightfastness.

UPF 50+

The UV protection factor to AS/NZS 4399 is 50+, so the fabric blocks more than 98 % of UV radiation. More on this under What is UPF.

Water-repellent, not waterproof

Both fabrics have a water- and dirt-repellent finish and reach 5 out of 5 in the spray test. Agora Lines has a water column of 180 mm, so rain runs off, but in persistent rain the fabric does get wet. The difference is explained in What is a water column.

20,000 rubs Martindale

The abrasion resistance to ISO 12947-2 is 20,000 rubs. That is enough for cushions and mattresses used regularly outdoors and indoors.

5-year manufacturer's guarantee

Agora gives a 5-year guarantee on the colour fastness of both fabrics. How Agora differs from Sunbrella is shown in the comparison Agora or Sunbrella.

One mattress, ten covers

The foldable outdoor mattress in Lines and Rayure

All ten products in this collection are the same foldable mattress, only the cover changes. What makes an outdoor mattress is explained there. You will find further fabrics and shapes under Mattresses, with the foldable mattresses and the folding mattresses.

Made to your measurements

You enter the length, width and thickness in the configurator, and we sew to those. How to measure a lying surface correctly is shown in the measuring guide for lounger cushions.

Foldable

The mattress folds up and can be stored in a small space. Unfolded, it is a place to lie in the garden, on the balcony or for guests.

Removable cover

The cover has a zip and can be taken off. Inside is a foam core with a fleece wrap.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Material and test values are the same: 100 % solution-dyed acrylic at 260 g/m², lightfastness 7-8 out of 8 and UPF 50+. The difference is the stripe pattern. Agora Lines has two stripes of 5 cm each, one of them mottled, and the pattern repeats every 10 cm. With Agora Rayure, the stripe sequence repeats every 15.5 cm.

Agora Lines and Agora Rayure reach grade 7-8 on the scale from 1 to 8 for lightfastness to ISO 105-B02, and also 7-8 for artificial weathering to ISO 105-B04. Because the acrylic is solution-dyed, the colour sits in the core of the fibre. Agora gives a 5-year guarantee on colour fastness.

No. Both fabrics have a water- and dirt-repellent finish and reach 5 out of 5 in the spray test, so rain runs off. Agora Lines has a water column of 180 mm. In persistent rain the fabric gets wet, so the mattress should then be brought somewhere dry.

Agora names a matching plain from Agora Liso for every Lines colour: Liso Marino for Marino, Liso Botella for Botella, Liso Granate for Granate, Liso Grafito for Grafito, Liso Piedra for Piedra and Liso Alabastro for Integral.

A foam core with a fleece wrap and a cover in Agora Lines or Agora Rayure. The cover has a zip and can be removed. You set the length, width and thickness in the configurator.
