Sizes a foldable mattress made to measure can have
A foldable mattress is a foam mattress that folds several times and takes up little room when folded. Foldable mattress and folding mattress mean the same construction. With us it is only available made to measure: a 90x190 foldable mattress is just as possible as a 120x200, a 110x190 or a 160x200 - and every size in between. The mattress is always rectangular. Small deviations are normal for sewn items, and the values are listed under tolerances for made-to-measure products.

Where a foldable mattress in a special size fits
A standard mattress fits when the space has a standard size. Anything else is the reason for a made to measure folding mattress. The foldable mattress belongs to our mattresses made to measure and comes from the same workshop as the other mattresses there. Where they differ is explained here.
Guest bed and children's room
For overnight guests the mattress lies unfolded on the floor, and afterwards it goes into the wardrobe folded. In a children's room it serves as a seat or play area during the day.
Bench, sofa and alcove
An alcove under a sloping roof or a built-in bench rarely has a catalogue size. The foldable mattress is made to your width and length. If you want a firm seat cushion with back cushions, you will find it among the bench cushions.
Boot, van and camping
As a camper mattress in a van or in the boot of a car, every centimetre counts, and folded it leaves room for luggage. For a fixed bed box in a motorhome with rounded corners or angled sides, there are the caravan mattresses in their own cuts. Ideas for travelling are in the RV camping hacks.

How to measure correctly and how to store the foldable mattress
Measure the space where the mattress is to lie, not the old mattress. Sketches showing the method are in the measuring guides. If the foldable mattress is to lie on a bench, the measuring guide for bench cushions helps.
Width and length of the sleeping surface
Measure the width at the narrowest point and the length across the whole surface, in an alcove from wall to wall. The length is the total length of the unfolded mattress.
Choosing the thickness
A thicker mattress gives more padding and better lying comfort, but it also gets taller when folded. A thinner one folds flatter and is more likely to fit into a wardrobe, bed box or car boot. The thickness does not change the size of the sleeping surface.
What is inside the mattress
A foam core with a bulk density of RG 40/50, that is the density of the foam, comparable to firmness grade H3. Around it is a 0.5 cm thick thermal fleece wrap, and over that the sewn cover. What makes up upholstery filling is explained in the guide What is upholstery filling.
Folding and holding together
The foldable mattress can be folded several times, and this foldability gives it its name. Sewn-in hook-and-loop straps hold it together when folded, so it does not come open during transport.
Store it dry
Fold and store the mattress only when the cover and core are completely dry. Moisture that stays inside the folded bundle can cause mildew spots. A dry wardrobe or the space under the bed works well.
Removable, washable cover
The cover has a sewn-in zip. You pull it off and wash it at 30 °C at most with mild soap, without a tumble dryer. This keeps the mattress easy to care for. It fits best when put back on slightly damp. More under care and cleaning.
10 to 15 working days
Every foldable mattress is made only after you order it, in our workshop in Westoverledingen. Depending on the season, production takes 10 to 15 working days.
Covers for the foldable mattress
Every cover is sewn from an Agora fabric, a hard-wearing upholstery fabric made of solution dyed acrylic. The colour sits in the fibre core, which is where the UV resistance comes from: the lightfastness is 7 to 8 out of 8 according to ISO 105-B02. All lines have a water and dirt repellent finish, are PFAS-free and are certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100.
Agora Life
Plain, panama weave and wabi structure with 22 % recycled acrylic from the manufacturer's own loop, solution dyed like all Agora fabrics. Example: foldable mattress Agora Life Ecru.
