Equipment covers
made to measure and ventilated
Ventilated made to measure covers for your outdoor units - waterproof in Cover-PVC and built so that no moisture is trapped underneath. They are meant for equipment that is switched off, cooled down or shut down for the season. A heat pump, by contrast, runs all year and gets a partial roof from us, never a full cover.
Shaped for your outdoor unit
The cover is sewn to the measurements of your unit and sits taut, without flapping. A drawcord and tension in the hem hold it securely, and the ventilated construction lets moisture escape from underneath. That way the fabric does not lie tight against the metal, where condensation would otherwise collect.
Before you cover a unit
Only cover a unit when it is switched off, completely cooled down and - where applicable - shut down for the season. A running, warm or operating unit is not covered. The instructions of the unit manufacturer in the manual always take precedence.
A heat pump runs all year and must never go into a full cover - for that we make our partial roof. A winter cover for an air conditioner is only meant for a unit shut down for the season and has to come off before it is switched on again.
Covers by unit
Outdoor units rarely come in standard sizes - we make every cover individually to your measurements, with no minimum order. What matters with each one is the right condition of use: cover it when the unit is off and cooled down, or shut down for the season. That keeps the weather protection high without obstructing operation.
Why ventilated protects better than sealed
A universal cover that seals completely sounds like more protection - but it is the most common reason for complaints on the market. Under a sealed cover the residual moisture in the surrounding air collects as condensation on the cool metal, and that turns into rust, mould and mildew stains. We do not solve this with a "breathable" fabric but through the construction: the fabric itself stays vapour-tight and therefore genuinely waterproof, while the air moves through deliberately placed openings and an open hem. The weather protection stays high and the moisture still finds its way out.
Concealed vents
At least two vents under flaps and fabric folds let air circulate without letting rain in.
Ventilated hem
Instead of a sealed bottom edge, a defined ground clearance of at least 5 cm - damp air escapes downwards and no heat builds up.
Made to measure tension
The cover sits taut on your unit, does not flap and does not lie tight against the metal, where condensation would collect.
Fabric & properties
A good equipment cover has to do two things at once: keep the weather out and still be ventilated. We sew from Cover-PVC, a vapour-tight, PVC-coated polyester fabric with a 4,000 mm water column - so it really is waterproof. Ventilation does not come from the fabric but from the construction, with concealed vents and a defined ground clearance.
How to measure correctly
With outdoor units the fit and the cut-outs are what count - a few measurements get it right, and if in doubt we check them together before production.
Measure width, depth and height
Measure at the widest and highest point - including connections, cables and the base.
Mind the air paths
On units with intake or discharge openings we plan cut-outs or a loose fit, so nothing is constrained.
Choose the fastening
The standard is tension straps with click buckles plus a drawcord in the hem - storm-proof at the corner points, instead of elastic that goes slack or single eyelets that tear out.
Matching covers
Not only for equipment: we sew made to measure covers for many areas around the house and garden.
