Custom made outdoor cushions, sorted by furniture type

Each category opens its own configurator. You enter length, width and thickness, pick a fabric and a finish, and we sew. Single pieces are normal here - there is no minimum order quantity.

Manufacturer direct

Custom cushions for outdoor furniture, straight from the workshop

We do not buy finished cushions in. Cutting, filling and stitching all happen in our own workshop, which is why odd shapes, cut-outs and templates are routine rather than a surcharge case. What that means in practice:

Foam matched to the seat

Seat pads get foam at 35/40 density, back cushions the softer 20/30. Both are furniture grades, not packaging foam.

Removable covers

Every sewn cover has a concealed zip and comes off for washing. Only quilted pads have no zip - those are wiped down instead.

Your measurements, odd shapes included

Round seats, angled corners, cut-outs for armrests. If you are unsure, send us a paper template of the seat and we cut from that. See the measurement instructions.

One piece is enough

No minimum quantity. A single cushion for a single chair is as welcome as a full set for the terrace.

10 to 15 working days

Nothing sits in stock. Each cushion is sewn after you order, which takes 10 to 15 working days depending on the season.

Which fabric for your outdoor cushions

All four are outdoor qualities. They differ in lightfastness, abrasion resistance and how they handle water. The figures come from the manufacturers' test reports, measured against the standards named below. Fabric samples are free.

Frequently asked

Frequently Asked Questions

The price follows the area, the thickness and the fabric. Every configurator works it out as soon as you enter the measurements, so you do not need to request a quote.

All fabrics are outdoor qualities and water repellent. Only the laminated Agora cover at 1,000 mm water column is genuinely waterproof; those sit under weatherproof cushions. Even custom made waterproof cushions should be stored dry over winter.

Yes. Send us the measurements of the old cushion or a paper template of the seat and we will sew the replacement. The frame does not have to be one of ours.

Sewn covers have a concealed zip, come off and go into the machine. Quilted pads have no zip and are wiped with soapy water instead. Details under care and cleaning.

Solution dyed acrylic such as Agora reaches lightfastness 7-8 out of 8 under UNE EN ISO 105-B02, because the pigment sits inside the fibre rather than on its surface. Dralon sits at 4-6.

Yes, we ship across the EU and beyond. Delivery time is the 10 to 15 working days of production plus the carrier transit time to your country.

Useful information

How thick should a cushion be for a bench?

At GERMES, we craft custom bench cushions in thicknesses ranging from 4-12 cm to accommodate different comfort preferences. Our 8 cm thickness is particularly popular, providing an excellent balance of support and softness for everyday bench seating. This medium thickness offers comfort without being overly bulky on your bench.
For customers seeking enhanced comfort, especially for extended sitting periods, our thicker bench cushions of 10-12 cm provide superior support. These premium cushions are particularly beneficial for those who use their benches frequently or for longer durations. Many customers find our 10 cm cushions ideal as they're comfortable for both sitting and occasional lounging.

What fabric is best for bench cushions?

For bench cushions that combine comfort with durability, our Dralon fabric with Teflon coating is the optimal choice. This premium material offers the soft feel of cotton while providing exceptional resilience for both indoor and outdoor custom cushions. The specialized acrylic fiber construction ensures your bench cushions maintain their appearance even with regular use.
Our custom bench cushions feature several practical fabric advantages:

  • Stain and water resistance from the Teflon coating protects your cushions from spills
  • Machine-washable covers with convenient zippers for easy maintenance
  • Superior UV resistance prevents fading, keeping your cushions vibrant
  • Exceptional durability ensures your bench cushions maintain their shape and comfort
How to make bench seating comfortable?

Creating truly comfortable bench seating requires attention to several key factors:

  1. Select the right thickness - Our custom cushions in 8-10 cm thickness provide optimal comfort for bench seating while maintaining an appealing appearance.
  2. Choose quality materials - GERMES bench cushions feature premium foam wrapped in Thermo-Fiber, delivering superior comfort in all weather conditions and maintaining their shape over time.
  3. Combine seat and back cushions - For complete bench comfort, pair our seat cushions with matching back cushions to provide proper support for extended sitting periods.
  4. Ensure precise fit - Custom cushions tailored to your bench's exact dimensions dramatically improve comfort by eliminating gaps or overhang that can cause discomfort over time.
How to make cushion stay on bench?

Keeping your custom cushions securely in place on your bench is essential for maintaining comfort. At GERMES, we've incorporated several effective solutions:

  1. Secure attachment systems - Our bench cushions include durable straps that can be tied around bench slats or frames to prevent shifting.
  2. Precise custom fitting - Each bench cushion is made to your exact measurements, significantly reducing movement since properly fitted cushions naturally stay in position better.
  3. Velcro attachment options - For benches where traditional ties aren't practical, we offer Velcro fastening systems that securely anchor your cushions.
  4. Quality materials - The substantial weight and premium construction of our bench cushions naturally help them remain in place during use.
  5. Adjustable straps - For back cushions, we incorporate adjustable buckle straps that can be perfectly tensioned to your bench's specific dimensions.

Our attention to detail in custom cushion manufacturing ensures your bench cushions remain precisely where you want them, enhancing both comfort and functionality.

How do you secure cushions to a bench?

At GERMES, our custom bench cushions feature multiple secure attachment methods. We incorporate durable straps that tie around bench frames, keeping cushions firmly in place. For specialty applications, our bench cushions can include Velcro fastening systems, while our back cushions feature adjustable buckle straps for perfect tensioning. These thoughtful attachment features ensure your bench cushions stay exactly where you want them.

How to keep a bench cushion from sliding?

Preventing bench cushion sliding begins with precise custom fitting. Our custom cushions are manufactured to your bench's exact dimensions, significantly reducing movement. The substantial weight of quality bench cushions naturally helps maintain position. Additionally, non-slip backing materials on our cushions create friction against bench surfaces. For maximum stability, our integrated attachment straps secure your bench cushion firmly in place.

What type of foam for a bench cushion?

For superior bench cushions, we recommend high-density polyurethane foam wrapped in Thermo-Fiber. This combination provides excellent support while maintaining softness for comfortable bench seating. The ideal foam density depends on your usage—firmer foams (2.5-3.0 pounds per cubic foot) resist compression in frequently used bench cushions. Our custom cushions use moisture-resistant foam for outdoor applications, ensuring durability in all weather conditions.

What makes a bench comfortable?

A truly comfortable bench combines several key elements. Quality custom bench cushions with appropriate thickness (8-10 cm) provide essential support and softness. Proper dimensions ensure ergonomic seating, while coordinated back cushions offer crucial spine support. Premium materials in custom cushions resist compression, maintaining comfort over time. Finally, secure attachment prevents shifting, allowing you to relax fully on your bench without constant readjustment.
