Finding an L shaped outdoor sofa cover that is waterproof and actually fits is hard with standard sizes: corner sofas have two sides of different lengths, an inside corner and a step between the backrest and the seat. We sew your cover in Cover-PVC to measure - to side length A and B, depth, backrest and seat height, with the corner on the left or the right. The made to measure cover follows the shape of your sofa, lets rain run off and is ventilated by design, so no condensation collects underneath.

What sets the L-shaped cover apart

A garden corner sofa cover off the shelf usually comes in a handful of fixed sizes. On an L-shaped sofa that leaves too much loose material: rain collects in hollows, the weight stretches the fabric and the wind gets underneath. An L shaped garden furniture cover made to measure follows the outline of your furniture instead - with little air underneath and little for the wind to catch. It works the same way as a rattan corner sofa cover or for teak, aluminium and upholstered corner units.

A true L-shaped cut

We sew both sides, the inside corner and the outside corner to your measurements. The cover lies flat instead of creasing or pulling at the corner.

Step between backrest and seat

With the backrest and seat heights, the cut follows the shape of your corner sofa. The fabric sits taut over the high points, water runs off and no pool of water forms on the seat.

Ventilated by design

At least two concealed vents under fabric folds and a ground clearance of at least 5 cm let moisture escape - against condensation, mildew stains and mould.

Secure fastening

Tension straps with click buckles at the corner points and a drawcord in the hem keep the cover in place in wind. We deliberately avoid elastic, which goes slack, and single eyelets, which can tear out.

The seams are carefully sewn. On request we additionally seal them with welded tape.

Fabric & properties

A cover for a corner sofa has to keep rain out reliably and still be ventilated, so that cushions and frame do not get damp underneath. We do not solve this with a "breathable" fabric but through the construction: we sew from Cover-PVC, a vapour-tight, PVC-coated polyester fabric with a 4,000 mm water column - so it really is waterproof. Ventilation comes from at least two concealed vents and a ground clearance of at least 5 cm: air flows in at the bottom and moisture escapes at the top. That way no condensation collects under the cover.

How to measure your corner sofa

Six details describe your L-shaped sofa completely. Always measure from the ground, at the widest and highest point, and the way the sofa will be covered: if the cushions stay on, measure with the cushions. For special shapes, simply upload a sketch or a photo - and if in doubt, we check your measurements together before production.

Side length A

Measure the first side along the back, from the outside corner to the end of that side, including the armrest.

Side length B

Measure the second side the same way, from the outside corner to the end, again including the armrest.

Depth

Measure from the back of the backrest to the front edge of the seat.

Backrest height

Measure from the ground to the top of the backrest - with the back cushions, if they stay under the cover.

Seat height

Measure from the ground to the top of the seat or seat cushion.

A protective cover cut exactly for a sofa with two sides - a garden corner sofa or an L-shaped lounge set. It has side panels, an inside and an outside corner and follows the heights of the backrest and seat. Unlike a loose tarpaulin thrown over the top, it sits taut and can be fastened securely with tension straps and a drawcord.

Rain, UV light, leaves, pollen and bird droppings take their toll on frame and cushions. Under a well-fitting cover the sofa stays clean and is ready to use again sooner. What matters is that the cover fits and is ventilated: a cover that is too large forms pools of water and flaps in the wind, one that reaches down to the ground traps moisture. We avoid both with a made to measure cut, ground clearance and vents.

A cover that stays outside needs a genuinely waterproof fabric. We sew from Cover-PVC, a PVC-coated polyester fabric with a 4,000 mm water column, UV-stabilised, lightfast (grade 7-8), abrasion-resistant with 60,000 Martindale cycles and tested to OEKO-TEX Standard 100. The fabric is deliberately vapour-tight - ventilation comes from the construction, with concealed vents and at least 5 cm ground clearance.

Rain does not get through: a 4,000 mm water column counts as reliably waterproof, so cushions and frame stay dry. Waterproof alone is not enough, though - only with a taut fit and ventilation does the water run off and moisture from below escape. That is why we combine vapour-tight Cover-PVC with a made to measure cut, concealed vents and ground clearance.

You do not pick a size from a chart, you give us your measurements: side length A, side length B, depth, backrest height, seat height and whether the corner is on the left or the right. Measure at the widest and highest point and the way the sofa will be covered. A sketch or photo helps with special shapes, and if in doubt we check your measurements together before production.

An L-shape is made of more cut pieces than a rectangular cover, has longer seams and an inside corner that has to sit exactly. That extra sewing work is reflected in the price - in return the cover fits your sofa instead of creasing, pooling water or pulling at the corners.

Whenever the sofa is not in use: over the winter, but also during the season when it rains, in spring against pollen or when you are away for a while. Only cover the sofa when it is dry - that way no moisture builds up underneath.

Clean the sofa and let it dry completely. Store cushions somewhere dry, indoors or in a cushion box. Then pull a well-fitting, ventilated cover over it and fasten it with tension straps and the drawcord. Ground clearance is important: a cover that reaches the ground holds in moisture from below and encourages mould. Wrapping furniture airtight in plastic sheeting therefore does more harm than good.

Cover-PVC is easy to care for: rinse off dirt, leaves and pollen with water. Let the cover dry before folding and storing it. When fitting it, make sure the vents stay clear and the tension straps are tight, so the cover does not chafe in the wind.

You can, but moisture rises from a lawn and the frame stands in the damp all the time. A firm, level surface such as a patio or paving slabs is better for a corner sofa. If it does stand on grass, a ventilated cover with ground clearance matters all the more, so that moisture from below can escape.
