The Agora collections at a glance

Each of these outdoor fabric collections brings together products from a single Agora fabric line. So you choose the fabric first and then the product. You will not find fabric by the metre here, but cushions, pads and folding outdoor mattresses: you enter the dimensions in the configurator and we sew them for you.

Agora Plains

84 products in plain Agora Liso, 260 g/m². Bench seat cushions, bench back cushions, high back chair cushions and wedge-shaped lounge cushions, each in 21 colours and made to your measurements. Further fabrics and shapes are available under bench cushions, high back chair cushions and lounge cushions.

Agora Life

15 folding outdoor mattresses from the Life line with 22 % recycled acrylic. Three weaves, smooth Life Liso, Life Panama with a basket-weave texture and Life Wabi with an irregular surface, each in Basalto, Beige, Ecru, Oat and Quartz.

10 folding outdoor mattresses with stripes. Six in Agora Lines with a 10 cm stripe repeat, four in Agora Rayure with wider blocks of colour.

The Agora fabrics of the five collections compared

All five lines are made of solution-dyed acrylic; what that means is explained in the guide What is solution-dyed. They differ in weave, weight and finish. Lightfastness is measured to ISO 105-B02 on a scale up to 8, more under What is lightfastness. All values for the individual fabrics can be found under Agora Liso, Agora Life, Agora Lines and Rayure, Agora Panama and Agora Simmetria.

Which Agora collection suits your furniture

Bench, chair or lounger: the choice of collection depends mainly on the furniture, the look and what matters most to you in a fabric. These five questions help you narrow it down.

Cushion for a bench or chair?

Then it is Agora Plains in plain colours. You enter the dimensions in the configurator. So measure beforehand, as shown in the bench cushion measuring guide. For lounge furniture there is the lounge cushion measuring guide.

Is recycling important to you?

The mattresses from Agora Life contain 22 % recycled acrylic from the manufacturer's production waste. Because the fibre is recycled, the shade can vary slightly from batch to batch.

Prefer stripes?

The striped mattresses are in Agora Lines and Rayure. For every Lines stripe colour there is a matching plain shade in Agora Liso, so stripes and plain can be combined.

Texture instead of a smooth surface?

The Panama weave shows a fine basket-weave pattern, in Agora Panama with 16 colours. A woven-in pattern at 405 to 420 g/m² comes with Agora Simmetria; the pattern is woven, not printed.

What the fabric does

Why Agora keeps its colour outdoors

For a fabric that spends the summer outdoors, three things count: colour, UV protection and how it deals with water. This is what the data sheets of the Agora fabrics say.

Colour in the fibre core

With solution-dyed acrylic, the colour is added to the liquid spinning mass before the fibre is formed. So it does not sit on the surface and cannot rub off or wash out. The manufacturer gives a 5-year guarantee on colourfastness.

Lightfastness and UV protection

Agora Liso, Lines, Rayure and Panama reach 7-8 of 8 for lightfastness to ISO 105-B02, the Life line and Simmetria 7 of 8. Where measured, UV protection is UPF 50+, meaning the fabric blocks more than 98 % of UV radiation. What the value tells you is explained under What is UPF.

Water repellent, not waterproof

Rain beads off; in the spray test Liso, Life Liso, Lines, Rayure and Panama reach 5 of 5. The hydrostatic head of Agora Liso, Life Liso, Lines and Panama is 180 mm. In continuous rain water gets through, so let cushions and mattresses dry after a shower. More under What is hydrostatic head.

Abrasion resistance and certification

Agora Liso withstands 20,000 rubs in the Martindale test, more under What is Martindale. The Agora fabrics are tested for harmful substances to OEKO-TEX Standard 100. How to clean the fabrics is explained under fabric care.

No, they have a water and dirt repellent finish. For Agora Liso, Life and Panama this finish is PFAS-free. A summer shower beads off, and the hydrostatic head of Liso, Life Liso, Lines and Panama is 180 mm. In continuous rain water gets through. Bring mattresses and cushions inside during longer spells of rain and let them dry completely before you put them away.

Hardly. Because the colour of solution-dyed acrylic sits in the core of the fibre, it fades only very slowly.
